CapSend Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 22, 2026
Last Updated: August 22, 2026
CapSend is a Chrome extension that helps you capture selected content, speak or type a prompt, and prepare that content in the composer of an AI service you choose. CapSend leaves the content unsent so you can review and manually submit it.
CapSend is operated from California, United States.
1. Privacy at a Glance
- CapSend does not upload or store your screenshots, prompts, AI conversations, AI responses, or raw voice recordings on CapSend servers during normal use.
- Captured content is handled through your browser and placed into your selected AI service for you to review and manually submit.
- CapSend processes limited installation, trial, subscription, security, and purchase-restoration information needed to operate the service.
- CapSend does not sell or rent user data.
- CapSend does not provide user data to data brokers.
- CapSend does not use user data for targeted advertising.
- CapSend does not use your screenshots or prompts to train CapSend AI models.
2. Content and Browser Information
Screenshots and prompts
When you capture part of a webpage, CapSend temporarily processes the screenshot in your browser. Typed or transcribed prompts are also handled through the browser.
CapSend places this content into the selected AI provider’s composer and leaves it unsent for your review. CapSend’s backend does not receive or store your screenshots or prompt content during normal use.
CapSend does not maintain a history of your screenshots or prompts.
Active tabs and supported AI sites
When activated, CapSend may inspect limited information about the current tab, including its URL, to determine whether capture can start and to route content to a supported AI service.
CapSend does not maintain a browsing-history database, and source-page URLs are not sent to CapSend’s entitlement backend as part of normal capture delivery.
CapSend accesses limited interface elements on supported AI websites as needed to place content into a provider’s composer and confirm attachments. It may also locally access limited page or browser-storage information needed to complete delivery or prevent duplicate or restored drafts. This information is not copied to CapSend’s backend.
Voice features
CapSend uses browser-provided speech-recognition functionality to convert speech into text. CapSend does not store raw speech recordings. Depending on your browser, device, and configuration, speech recognition may use an online service operated by your browser or platform provider and is subject to that provider’s privacy practices.
Separately, CapSend may temporarily use microphone access to measure audio volume and animate the voice orb. That audio is analyzed locally in memory, is not recorded or uploaded by CapSend, and stops being accessed when listening ends.
3. AI Services
CapSend supports:
- ChatGPT, provided by OpenAI;
- Claude, provided by Anthropic;
- Gemini, provided by Google;
- Grok, provided by xAI; and
- Microsoft Copilot.
CapSend places your selected screenshot and prompt into the provider’s composer. It does not automatically submit the content.
Once content is made available to an AI provider, including as an unsent draft, that provider may process or retain it according to its own terms and privacy policy. CapSend does not control those practices.
CapSend does not retrieve or store AI-provider responses on its backend during normal use.
4. Installation, Trial, and Subscription Information
CapSend processes limited information needed to:
- Authenticate an installation;
- Enforce the shared free-trial limit;
- Determine paid access;
- Manage subscription status;
- Restore an existing purchase;
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access; and
- Operate and secure the service.
This information may include an installation identifier and credential, trial state, selected AI provider, cached entitlement status, billing email, subscription references and status, paid-through and cancellation information, recovery state, rate-limit information, and limited security or recovery audit records.
The installation credential is generated and stored locally and transmitted over HTTPS when authentication is required. CapSend’s backend stores a verifier rather than the raw credential.
Chrome manages keyboard-shortcut assignments. CapSend reads current assignments for display but does not store those Chrome shortcut assignments itself.
Removing the extension normally removes its local browser data, subject to Chrome’s behavior. It does not automatically delete backend subscription, billing, security, or recovery records.
5. Payments, Recovery, and Service Providers
Stripe
Stripe processes CapSend subscriptions and payments. Payment-card information is entered directly into Stripe. CapSend does not receive or store your full payment-card number or payment credentials.
CapSend receives limited subscription information needed to provide paid access and process activation, renewal, cancellation, payment status, paid-through access, and termination.
Purchase restoration and Resend
Purchase restoration allows a subscriber to connect an existing subscription to a new or reinstalled CapSend installation.
CapSend may process the subscription billing email, temporary recovery information, installation information, subscription status, and a limited restoration audit record. Resend delivers the transactional verification email.
Recovery verification links and device confirmation codes expire after approximately 15 minutes and are protected against reuse. The installation credential remains valid until revoked or replaced. Successful restoration may revoke the previous installation’s access and does not create a new subscription or free trial.
Cloudflare
Cloudflare provides CapSend’s backend, database, network-security, and scheduled-processing infrastructure.
Stripe, Resend, Cloudflare, and third-party AI providers process information under their respective terms and privacy practices.
6. How CapSend Uses Information
CapSend uses limited account and technical information to:
- Provide and maintain the service;
- Enforce trial limits and paid access;
- Authenticate installations;
- Manage subscription lifecycle state;
- Restore purchases;
- Send transactional recovery emails;
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats;
- Provide support;
- Comply with law; and
- Protect CapSend and its users.
CapSend does not:
- Sell or rent personal information;
- Provide user data to data brokers;
- Use user information for targeted or behavioral advertising;
- Build behavioral profiles for advertising or purposes unrelated to CapSend;
- Use screenshots or prompts to train CapSend AI models; or
- Use Chrome data for creditworthiness decisions or other unrelated purposes.
CapSend does not use third-party analytics, advertising, behavioral-profiling, or remote crash-reporting SDKs.
7. Logs and Human Access
CapSend and its infrastructure maintain limited operational and security logs. These may contain timestamps, request status, request metadata, technical request identifiers, error information, and aggregate maintenance counts. Local extension diagnostics may temporarily include source or provider URLs.
CapSend does not intentionally place screenshots, prompt text, raw audio, or AI responses into backend operational logs.
Authorized personnel and service providers may access limited backend account, subscription, security, and operational information when reasonably necessary for support, service operation, security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.
Normal screenshots, prompts, AI responses, and raw voice recordings are not available in CapSend’s backend for routine human review. If you voluntarily provide information to support, authorized personnel may review it to answer your request.
8. Retention and Deletion
CapSend has no backend retention for screenshots, prompts, AI responses, or raw voice recordings during normal use because CapSend does not store that content there.
Other records are retained according to their purpose:
- Expired or consumed recovery challenges and expired security or rate-limit records are generally eligible for automatic deletion after approximately 30 days.
- Revoked installation credentials are generally eligible for deletion after approximately 90 days when safe to remove.
- Eligible purchase-restoration audit records are generally retained for approximately one year.
- Active subscription and entitlement records are retained as reasonably necessary for service operation, billing, cancellation, disputes, accounting, security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
You may request deletion of personal information maintained by CapSend by contacting [email protected].
CapSend may verify your authority to make the request. Some information may be retained where reasonably necessary for transactions, subscription integrity, security, fraud prevention, disputes, accounting, legal compliance, or enforcing agreements.
9. Tracking and Policy Changes
CapSend does not use screenshots, prompts, page URLs, or browsing activity to track users across unrelated websites for advertising.
Third-party websites and AI services used with CapSend may have their own privacy and tracking practices.
CapSend may update this Privacy Policy as the service or applicable requirements change. If CapSend materially changes how it handles personal information, it will update this policy and provide any additional notice or obtain consent when required.
10. Chrome Limited Use and Contact
CapSend’s use of information received through Google and Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
CapSend uses Chrome information only as necessary to provide its disclosed user-facing functionality, operate and secure the service, comply with law, and prevent fraud or abuse.
